Dear Tom,

I am so pleased you are continuing to do well despite the recession - you certainly deserve it due to your exemplary customer service and excellent oak engineered wood flooring - there might be a few cheaper products on the market but they would not come anywhere near to the fantastic quality of yours, which I think represents superb value for money. It's a pity so many people concentrate on 'price' rather than 'value for money'.

"It's a pity so many people concentrate on 'price' rather than 'value for money'."

Attached are the photos - before and after waxing.

Some background information that might be helpful if you have a customer asking lots of questions about fitting:

....The boards were laid directly onto Elastilon which sat on 70 mm thick Xtratherm foam insulation board that sat on a vapour barrier sheet on top of the concrete slab.

As a 'floating' floor it is not rigidly fixed and has no battens or bearers, and despite these being your widest 220 mm boards there have no problems whatsoever. I did not even glue the T&G joints relying solely on the Elastilon which has been marvellous. A friend who went the 'traditional' route with solid boards on battens has seen a lot of movement whereas our joints are as tight as the day they were laid. This new-build green oak room has experienced great variations in temperature and humidity so it is not even a pampered floor!!

"A friend who went the 'traditional' route with solid boards on battens has seen a lot of movement whereas our joints are as tight as the day they were laid."

I did however lay 70 mm timbers around the perimeter in order to create a duct in which the cables were laid for the floor-mounted power sockets (only just discernible in the last photo).

Best wishes for your continued success.

Peter

Customer Feedback- Mr and Mrs Williamson

Dear Mr Fanthorpe,

Your engineered wood flooring arrived yesterday as agreed and on time. I must confess that I now appreciate why you insist there must be someone available to help unload the carriers as the weight of the 51 boxes of flooring is considerable.(Originally as you know I felt this request was unnecessary and inconvenient for ourselves) We have opened some of the boxes and laid them out onto the area to be covered. It just looks fantastic and we can't wait to see them being laid tomorrow by our carpenter.

I personally have spent hours on the internet with many of the larger companies looking at samples etc including buying from one of them who lists highly on the Google pages only to have to return the goods due to extremely poor quality and a higher price than I eventually bought from you. I also feel the sales person had very little knowledge of the product he was selling and we would have been very lucky to get any form of refund without our knowledge as solicitors.

The service that you have offered has been second to none and I do appreciate the time you have given us with our long winded questions (after being caught out on our first purchase). Long may the smaller company that actually cares remain.

" Long may the smaller company that actually cares remain."

I am about to send you some of the literature that I have received from some of your competitors that may be of interest to you. I will also send you some photographs of the finished floor within the next few days but would appreciate that you do not use them on your web site for privacy reasons. We have found through experience that samples of flooring are very misleading from all companies. Your use of ordinary photographs taken by your clients is by far the best way of giving a true visual/description of the finished floor. One thing I would say is put your prices up as your flooring is worth every penny. We paid far more from our original source and the timber was not nearly as good as your flooring.

Many thanks again
